See No More, Feel Everything
A figure disappears behind its own hands—not in surrender, but in survival. Fingers stretched across the face become both shield and prison, concealment and confession. What remains visible is only the mouth: parted, breathing, enduring, holding back words that may never be spoken aloud.
The hands themselves tell their own story. Layered in fractured tones of flesh, ash, gold, bruise, and earth, they appear weathered by memory—marked by labor, identity, trauma, and transformation. They are not merely covering the face; they are the face. They become biography. They become armor.
Beneath the portrait, paint drips and splattered textures bleed downward like unfinished sentences, like wounds that refuse clean endings, like emotions gravity cannot contain. Gold fractures emerge throughout the composition, evoking both decay and sacred repair—echoes of brokenness made visible, not hidden.
The soft blush background offers an almost deceptive tenderness, contrasting with the psychological intensity of the subject. Flesh meets abstraction. Vulnerability meets resistance. Silence becomes louder than speech.
This work explores emotional suppression, identity, trauma, resilience, cultural memory, self-protection, healing, and the fragile space between being seen and choosing invisibility.
