Muchero Waibva (Ripened Fruit / Fruit Coming Into Maturity) 2016

Muchero Waibva is a meditation on feminine inheritance, growth, and the sacred journey from innocence to selfhood. Two figures occupy separate yet connected planes—one youthful, standing at the threshold of becoming; the other adorned in ceremonial elegance, embodying wisdom, ancestry, and the quiet strength of womanhood.

The vivid pink ground pulses with life, femininity, and emotional energy, while the striking yellow garment symbolizes youth, promise, and emergence. The split textile composition creates both physical separation and spiritual connection, suggesting that maturation is never a solitary act, but one guided by those who came before.
