Awakening The Inherited Eye
Awakening the Inherited Eye is a powerful meditation on identity, memory, and the awakening of ancestral consciousness. Emerging from a body constructed through photographic fragments, personal symbols, and layered imagery, the central figure becomes both portrait and archive—a living vessel carrying histories too complex to exist in a single form.
The prominent third eye, positioned at the center of the forehead, symbolizes expanded awareness, spiritual insight, and the ability to see beyond inherited narratives. From the crown, organic branches emerge like roots turned skyward, suggesting growth born not from forgetting, but from remembrance.
The figure’s body is assembled from moments, places, and collective experiences—collaged memories of migration, struggle, culture, and transformation—while the procession of silhouetted forms at the base evokes generations moving through time, displacement, and rebirth.
In Awakening the Inherited Eye, identity is not discovered—it is assembled, inherited, questioned, and ultimately reclaimed.

Honestly… this could very easily become the cover image for Fragments of Becoming. It almost explains the entire exhibition in one piece.
